I have accomplished more in one month of doing Author Accelerator program than I have in nearly a decade of taking workshops, writing classes and participating in writer's groups in an effort to get my book on the page. Thank you so much for this feedback. I FINALLY feel like I'm on the right track and it feels AMAZING!

Woo hoo! I have a complete first draft! And there's no way I could have done it by now without Author Accelerator and the incomparable Laura E. Franzini! The last chapter still needs work and then on to revision. But as my protagonist says in that last chapter, there's a long road ahead, but at least there's a road.

I've gone from mush to meat in one week!

I am very pleased with your program. The structure, feedback and encouragement your program offers has been extremely rewarding. Had I written the same number of pages in the same amount of time without Kemlo's [editor] feedback, both my story and I would be in completely different places. My story would be lost in some unknown forest and I would be frustrated, discouraged, and still writing at the same level with no improvement. I like the setup you have of ten pages a week because it forces me to push the storyline forward when I might otherwise play endlessly with commas and grammar. Kemlo's feedback allows me freedom but guides me back to the main path, and her comments and questions shed light that allows me to develop the prior chapter in my mind, even as I move forward. This makes me hopeful that the revisions will have added depth, meaning and flow.

Thank you for offering this wonderful vehicle for people like me to work toward their dreams, and thank you again for pairing me with Kemlo. I'm sure all your editors are terrific, but I am certainly getting incredibly useful feedback and encouragement from Kemlo and I couldn't be happier!

I have been working on this story in one form or another since 2008. There were several moments I really wanted to throw it out and start something new, because I could see what it could become, but just couldn't bring that vision to life. This process, and your feedback in particular, allowed me reclaim to my story, achieve clarity, and accomplish more in the last 4 months than I managed on my own in the last 5 years.

After three great weeks of author submissions and enlightening editorial insights, I was very excited for my first phone call tonight. It's been a fantastic week. I got so much done knowing that someone in the universe cared and wanted me to write. Funny what a difference that can make.

After Week One/Phase One, I'm already blown away. The questions and assignments are making me dig deep. I just spent the morning reading over Day One/Week Two and it gets even better.

I appreciate how fast you've been able to respond with your comments. It helps a lot towards kicking off a new week of writing. This is my first time working with an editor for fiction. It's a good feeling, like having a lighthouse blinking advice illuminating the best path to follow, avoiding nasty pitfalls.

When it come to writing, you seem to have a million tricks up your sleeve. It's also a great pleasure to be in a conversation with people who love writing as much as I do. As you know, this job requires a lot of solitary time and it's nice to connect with others who are seriously engaged in the process.

I love the monthly office hour! Thanks again for answering all of our questions. I find the whole hour engrossing and helpful, and I take notes on everything. If I keep up this pace, I should have a strong, agent-ready manuscript in three months.

Thanks so much for your suggestion that I start over in order to get past my mental block. Before I kept grappling and grappling with my prior draft, but starting fresh -- and then weaving the old stuff in -- really helped me get going.
