About Tribogenics

Tribogenics hopes to change the way the world uses x-rays. Based on an entirely new method of producing x-rays, Tribogenics' technology is ultra-portable, requires no power, and can be engineered in entirely new geometries.

The new x-ray source is based on a patented method of triboluminescence, which involves bringing two surfaces together in a way that creates a charge imbalance, and then separating the surfaces to generate an electrostatic potential. This potential is such that electrons are accelerated fast enough to produce x-rays. It is fundamentally different than any other x-ray technology.

The x-ray producing technique has been demonstrated using a variety of geometries and materials, including adhesives, rollers, bands, and blocks.
