Carbon offset is the process of figuring out the carbon footprint of a production, and then offsetting it with a carbon offset producer. What this means is that a company will plant enough trees, repopulate a wet land, etc., to produce enough oxygen to neutralize that harmful aspect of a productions environmental footprint.
